My wife gave me my light for Christmas, and I absolutely love it. The whole light connects me to flying, even when I'm stuck at home.

About this review

This thing is cool. Very low key metar indicator that’s easy to connect. Highly satisfied EDIT: This thing is cool to look at, but leaving it plugged in 24/7 means it frequently reboots itself, and more recently it will start speaking the weather randomly when nobody is near it. So I find myself unplugging it a lot.

Our story

A lifelong tinkerer.
A pilot at heart.

I’m Dan, a software engineer and lifelong tinkerer with a passion for aviation. I love figuring out how things work, building something new, and finding ways to bring those interests together.

I earned my private pilot license at Red Stewart Airfield, a grass field in southern Ohio, training in a Piper Cub and small Cessnas. That’s where my connection to flying took root: simple airplanes, a grass runway, and an airport that will always mean something to me.

METARLight brings the engineer, tinkerer, and pilot in me together. It’s a way to keep a connection to your favorite airport, even when you’re at your desk instead of in the cockpit.

Every pilot has an airport. This is a little piece of mine.
